Pros: Easy to put on and take off of your phone. Great protection. I have to keep my phone on vibrate most of the time and I can still feel it vibrate in the holster!
Cons: I wish it protected the top from dust and such.

I have had over 20 Verizon phones. I have NEVER had a holster that was as protective as this 2 piece system. If you should drop the phone after you take it out of the holster, it is still pretty well protected by the shell (except for the face). There were 3 things I wanted in a holster: 1. I could wear it with the phone in a verticle position. 2. I wanted it to fit in the holster with the front facing in. 3. I wanted to be able to feel it vibrate in the holster. I would recommend this to anyone!

Pros: Easy to attach or remove, durable, great build quality
Cons: Not a FULL protection case but covers most in case it falls to the ground

This is my third case for the DX, the first two were Verizon cases and they ended up breaking or allowing too much junk to sneak in and scratch the outside of my phone. I also wanted something I can wear on a belt vertically for convenience instead of in my pocket, and this was the perfect solution. The case itself is very durable, and while it doesnt cover ALL of the phone, it covers most of the parts that may be damaged if it falls to the ground. Full access to the screen and buttons, camera, speaker, etc. Isnt thick so it wont hamper the full ability to use the screen. The holster is fantastic, built very solid and can take some abuse from everyday wear. The belt clip is very strong in case it were to become snagged on something. The soft liner on the inside prevents scratches to the screen. Overall, five stars for this case combo!

Pros: Works great! Protects the phone, doesnt affect reception.
Cons: Only comes in black.

This is a great product. It has protected my phone well and it is easy to get the phone in and out. You dont have to worry about the phone falling out of it. The face (screen side) of the phone faces the inside of the holster so you dont hit the screen while it is in the holster. The holster swivels easily and what ever position you swivel it to, it doesnt move. Also, the holster doesnt make the phone stick out very far so you are less apt to hit the phone on things while walking by counters and things that stick out.

I originally bought a Verizon branded leather case with the magnetic closure, but it simply was too massive looking on my belt and the clip wasnt as good as you had to wear the phone vertically. I took it back and exchanged it for this case which comes in 2 pieces. The first piece is the shell that just snaps onto the phone and protects most of the phone. There are cutouts for the the connector jacks, volume rocker, camera button & lens, power button, headphone jack, microphones and speaker and the touchscreen of course is uncovered. The second piece is the holster and has a nice sturdy swivel clip so you can wear it vertically or horizontally and has a soft fabric which protects the touchscreen as you insert the phone with the screen facing into the holster. Its made out of a nice feeling rubberized plastic. If you want, you can just put the shell on for protection and put it into your pocket too without using the holster.

My only complaint is a minor one and that is that you have to take the shell off in order to use the desktop docking cradle or the car mount, but it snaps off pretty easily.

I highly recommend this case for Droid X owners!!!

so basically i wanted to protect my dx since from dings and what not so i asked the sales rep what holsters are available for the dx. he showed me this combo case which is like a soft rubber bumper skin and a holster combo. i immediately said i wanted it. it has a great tactile feel, protects the corners well with the skin overlapping slightly. only downside is that i also want a cradle to charge my dx. hopefully sedio will make one soon

Holster/Shell Combo

Cons: Doesnt fit the Droid X with the Extended Battery.

Very nice case, but only can use if I am using the original battery. If I use the extended battery, then I can not use the shell.

This combo works very nice. I dont care for the added thickness that the case adds to the phone itself, but the overall case/holster combo is very slim. The phone slides in & out easily, yet stays secure.

Good Case/Holster Combo

Cons: No top protection, doesnt accommodate extended battery well, wont fit it Moto auto mount

Overall, this is a good choice for ease of removal, which is important, because it cant be used in the Moto auto mount or Multimedia stand. The case provides little, if any protection to the top of the DX.

Unfortunately, it doesnt accommodate the Moto extended battery very well. The case can be forced on, but it is under stress, and doesnt snap securely around the front edge. Im also afraid that it will spring off of the DX, if I drop it - negating any protection.

Also, the shift caused by the battery door causes the access for the camera button to be offset, and makes use of the camera button more awkward than it already is.

Since I plan to keep the new, extended battery. I plan to find a replacement for the Shell/Holster combo. If I were to use only the original battery, I would be happy with the case.

A Pretty Good Solution

This is actually a pretty good case and holster solution.

Although it wont fit in the charger with the case on, I easily remove the case each night to put it on my charger.

It is easy to insert and remove the phone from the holster.

It fits the DX great. Holds phone tightly. But hard to slide out of holster. I have to take the whole holster off to slide it out to answer a call. Price is good for what you get. Im upgrading to the seidio case/holster combo.

I have the Holster Combo one week, and I drop my phone top gets a nice rash buff on the top on to places on my mint looking phone. case a a miner one. GREAT

I was excited to get this holster because I had the same Verizon brand shell/holster combo with my original Droid. However, Im disappointed that the design has suffered this time around. The top section of the phone has no coverage at all. Its completely open, including the corners. I suppose if it dropped on a top corner, there *might* be some chance of getting a small amount of protection from the edge, but nothing to rely on. Still, its probably the best option at this time, as it faces in to protect the screen and has the shell to protect the phone while in your hand. Im going to at least consider the Seidio combo when they release later this month. This ones not bad for the money, just wish they thought it through more.

This was a great case until after about two months the clip on the holster broke and the top half is so thin that it was cracking also. Now the actual case is starting to have little chunks break off. If I knew then what I know now I would have paid a little more for a way better case like the otter box. I would not recommend this product unless you only plan on using it for a few weeks.

Ive had the phone and case for about a month. I work in construction so I need a case that will really hold the phone. Ive had the phone fall out twice now in the first month. Today I didnt hear it fall out, but happened to feel the case to see if the phone was there and it wasnt. Retraced my steps and found it had fallen into the snow.

The case rotates which is a good thing, but it isnt always easy to quickly tell which way is the top. By top, I mean the opening the phone slides into.

I often wear t-shirts or a shirt untucked. The cloth often gets pinched between the phone and the case as I slide it in. This is a very minor consideration compared to the phone falling out of the case. Just an annoyance really.

The big problem is the phone isnt as secure as I need it to be.

Unable to use it. It puts pressure on the battery cover if using the extended battery wich in turn creates screen distortion. I tried it without the battery door with no luck.

I always keep my phones safe, Ok I get this Verizon shell sliding Holster , and what happens the dam thing falls to the ground some how slides a little bit off and bam, top of my new phone less then 30 days out gets some road rash on the top of the phone. I cant bare to look at the thing with out a snap on case.

Cons: holster separtes from belt clip as soon as you sit down.

It is a little difficult to remove the phone from the holster, but that can be a good thing. The bad thing is EVERY time I got into the car, the phone (in the holster, fortunately) would take a tumble in the street or parking lot. The belt clip would be securely on my belt. You can re-assemble it if you still have the little plastic retainer that normally sits in the belt clip. But after about 5 times, just bumping it lightly will cause the phone to fall of the clip.
I have been using it for a pocket protector for the last couple of weeks, and now the case is even splitting.
My $30 blackberry case lasted a year and a half. By that standard, this is worth maybe 40 cents.

This holster/case combo was exactly what I was looking for when the Droid X came out (except for the aesthetics). But having used this combo for almost 3 months I can now say I cannot recommend it. As the holster/case have worn with use the phone has been very easy to slide out of the holster. So much so that while shopping on day the phone slid out with out my knowledge and was lost never to be returned. Great at first but be aware as it wears out!!!

When you are putting this case on, watch your buttons! My camera button was popped off by this case and now I have to get a new phone. the Verizon store said they where replacing this only do to a courtesy so that doesnt mean they would replace it automatically.
